topc says it all..i was just wondering if, by editing the IFO or anything else, i could get subtitles to start.

If you are authoring your own DVD then your DVD authoring software may or may not support this function. You'll have to read the manual to see. Most authoring programs that support subtitles will let you load a subpicture, then go into its properties and select the "forced start" option.
