  1. I capture at 720x480 MPEG2 using MMC. Never had a problem before. Reformated my hard drive now having troubles. Using TMPGE 2.56. I can load the video but it wont load the audio. It used to before. So its making me demux them and load them seperate. But also now when I go to source range the video hangs up when Im trying to fast forward. I never had any of these problems before. I did a search and everyone keeps saying raise the priority of directshow, but if I raise it above the mpge2, tmpge gives me an error when I try to load the video that says it is not supported. Here is a pic. Thanks in advance.

  2. OK I used AVI Codec to tell me that my audio source needs am mpeg-1 audio layer 2 codec to work. So I downloaded Nimo Lite and when I try to run the codec it just says error cant run. Any suggestions? Or do you know where I can get this specific codec?

    Thanks Boxingjunkie

AFAIK, the mpeg1 Layer 2 audio codec (otherwise known as mp2) is part of the standard windows installation, so should not be an issue. Do your captured files play OK in WMP, with audio, before loading into Tmpgenc?

  4. Uninstall nimo codec pack first. I had all sorts of errors after loading that including standard widows codecs not working. Everytime attempting to play a file media player would try to download a codec even for a .mpg or an uncompressed .avi. Not being able to ff is classic symptom of codec being unavailable. Audio dont show in tmpgenc cause it thinks codec is not installed. Solved my probs by re-installing media player (uninstall present version first). In future only install codecs you need, not bulk packs with conflicts.

Right, the built in MPEG2 decoder with TMPGenc seems to be choking on your captured file. when you raise the Dshow priority above the built in decoder, it tries to use the same codec windows media player would use. Please try and open the captured MPEG in media player, and tell us if it works.

I would try installing a DVD player like PowerDVD, and media player and direct show will then use it's codec. all you then need do is raise direct show above the built in deocder and all should be well......

  6. I reinstalled Win DVD 4. Reinstalled WMP 9. Installed the free DVD Codec that comes with it. When I open a clip in WMP, it says error sending codec. The clip does play and has audio, but the name of the clip is in orange and when you click on it, its giving this error message. I also uninstalled the Nimo Codec Pack. Opened the clip in TMPGE and had the same troubles. If I give the highest priority to the Directsho, it wont even let me load the clip, but if I keep the MPEG 2 Codec with the highest priority it will at least load the clip. Also, it is showing two mpeg 2 plug ins. They are exactly the same codec. How do I go about getting rid of one of these? Thanks for the help.
