ive just encoded and burnt my 1st SVCD and on my PC i tested playback and everything looks fine and dandy, when finally burnt and inserted into my standalone dvd player my audio is slow and it seems in some areas that playback is not smooth.. has anyone come across this problem, and if yes what can i do to rectify this situation?? i do believe that i comply with the svcd standard, my movie was 84.22 mins long with 48k,128kbps Audio and a CBR of 2345..

svcd audio require 44100kHz not 48kHz. That may cause your audio problems. By slow do you just mean out of sync? If so this might be caused by more than just the non-standard frequency.

How did you encode this? How did you burn this? You MUST multiplex your mpg in bbmpeg or else there is a very good chance that your svcd will play out of sync on your dvd player.

  5. Some DVD players are really picky, my APEX AD600A plays 48k audio just fine, others don't. It the audio doesn't fix it you might want to check your frame rate to make sure it's:

    29.97fps

In theory your DVD playe should be able to play 23.976fps (or even 25fps) but again, some are really picky.
