help on encoding a svcd

could someone help me encode a svcd to a svcd with TMPGEnc. becuhz i think the movie i have is messed up and i would like to encode it back to the same format. when i burn it wit nero 6 n play it back on my philps DVD Q35 it keeps on stuttering.i dont know whats the problem could u guys help me please!!!

I'm a little confused. You already have a file encoded as a SVCD and you want to re-encoded to an SVCD? What for? Or do you mean you want to know how to encode a file to SVCD?

i wanna encode it to a SVCD2SVCD cuhz i think sumthign is wrong wit mah file when i play it on mah dvd player ti stutters all the time so i dont noe whats the problem is..it could b that it is a PAL not a NTSC

You need to be more specific with what you do when you encode.

There are several reason why a SVCD is jerky when played on a DVD player. Try the following.

Encode the SVCD at a min of 1500 bitrate.
Burn the SVCD at 4x when using NERO.
Look up your DVD player and see if it's compatible to play SVCD's.

You mentioned that it's PAL are you encoding the file as a PAL and playing it on a NTSC DVD player? or vis versa?

Ok guys, I have the same problem here. I have a dvd player (that I already looked up, sony dvp-ns325) that has a known problem with artifacting.
I also would like to re-encode a SVCD from PAL to NTFS. Trying NERO 60011 right now and it's 1/2 frozen. Not cutting the mustard. I tried to load it up with tmpgenc and suprise suprise, not a supported format. What else can we use?
