  1. I want to make a Region 2 DVD i.e. one that will play in Region 2 DVD (and multi-region) players.

The reason is I'm in the UK and Region 2
players won't play my multi-region(?) DVD here.

I made it with Nero and TMPGenc DVD author.

Curry's and Dixons still sell Region 2-only players.

A search of the forums shows only Region 2 -> Multi-region hacking posts.

    Any clues gratefully received.

  2. Try using DVD Shrink. Open the DVD and if everything is the way you want it click Backup. The program allows you to set the region code before ripping to your HD.

  4. Much faster and easier to use IFOEdit. IIRC DVD Toolbox can also be used to set the region but I'm not 100% sure.

  5. I'll try 'em all, and post the results here.

    Didn't I read that IFOedit doesn't give 100% compliant DVD's?

  7. Used DVD Decrypter.

Now I'm trying to re-set my RealMagic Hollywood Plus card to Region 2; for some reason it says I have to set its region code, even though when I try to, the Region 2 option is blanked out (it was set as Region 2 before, so I don't know what's going on here. I must get a commercial Region 2 DVD and see if that plays in it).

I don't want to have to go to Dixon's every time I make an alteration to my DVD, so I might buy a cheap, 2nd-hand Region 2 player as a last resort.

    Ho hum.

  8. Used Remote Selector to convince the Hollywood Plus it was Region 2.

    Still no joy.

Am going to post another question about 'making a DVD with maximum compatability', if I can't find an answer on this site.

Thanks for all the replies. They were very helpful.
