  1. Can i do that:

    rip a dvd to a file (AC3, m2v etc.)

    Muxing with an extra sub file with ifoedit (my language sub)

    than replacing the authored vob with the original one and using ifoupdate

    results,

    i can choose my language sub thru the remote but not thru the subtitles menu.

    so, is this possible to do?

    I had some simular problems. See my post here:
    https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=173746

    I'm not sure about the sync problems, but to fix the subtitle color you need to open the VTS_01_0.IFO of the original DVD in IfoEdit. Double click VTS_PGCITI, and then click VTS_PGC_1, and click Subtitle Color (at the top), and select "Copy color from this PGC". Now (without closing IfoEdit) open the VTS_01_0.IFO of your reauthored DVD click VTS_PGCITI, click VTS_PGC_1, click Subtitle Color, and select "Paste color to this PGC". Your subtitles should now change to the colors of the original DVD.

    As far as srt2sub is concerned, don't get me started . It doesn't matter what color scheme you choose or whatever, because it won't work. Don't try to make the background transparent, because it won't work. The only thing that it is good for is converting your srt file to a sub file.

  5. Hi, I am the author of Srt2Sup (I program you seem to have strong thoughts about) If you fee there is a bug then why have you not emailed me.

    If you download the FULL version b4.02 from my website it includes an IFO file that works with the standard colours in Srt2Sup.

    If I could control the colours I would, but it is not down to the SUP file but the matching of the SUP file to the IFO file (and some DVD players use their own colours as well)

    You are not going to encourage people like me who give their time without reward by slagging off their software.

  6. srt2sup, well thanks tiy for this little prog but im not talking bad on it it just that i cant work with it or im doing something wrong...anyway
    i am using the latest version and i did copy the color from one ifo to another and nothing helped me..
    i took a regular srt file from the net and im trying to put it on a DVD (m2v)
    maybe the synch will not be perfect but the most importent is the color...

  7. Hi, my comments were directed to bigb_y2g, however you need to understand the following:

    If in Srt2Sup you have:

    Colour1=Red
    Colour2=Grey
    Colour3=Blue
    Colour4=White

    Then the IFO file must match that order!

    Colour1=Red
    Colour2=Grey
    Colour3=Blue
    Colour4=White

    Now because threre is no easy way (that I know of) to set subtitle colours in an IFO file except copying them from a known working one. The chances of getting a match is 1 in 16!

    Copy the colours from the IFO file supplied with Srt2Sup and DON'T CHANGE THE COLOURS in Srt2Sup and it should work fine!

    Trust me, I appreciate the time and effort you put in to creating srt2sup. My problem is that with no user guide you have to "guess" how the program operates.

    When I select Backgound->Trans I figured I would have a transparent background. Am I doing something wrong? I end up (like wizzy) with a white background with red letters. I can change the colors all day, but still can't get rid of the "blocky" background.

    Yes, the color scheme is in the IFO and your IFO file will keep the "basic" color scheme, but how do you get rid on the background and make it transparent.?

    Is this a bug I can report, or am I doing something wrong?

  13. Hi,

    There has been a lot of emails and feedback about subtitle colours and the process was far to complicated for people to get their headr around!

    So I took some time out of my busy schedule to make life easier!

    There is a new version a4.03 of Srt2Sup that makes the setting of colours much simpler.

    It is available from www.shipleys.eclipse.co.uk
