  1. Hope someone can help me?
First i would like to know what you guys think is the best program to capture? I use power vcr but i donīt know i its the best program.

Second when i have capture from my videoplayer and i encode it with Tmpgenc. I capture the video in "DVD Pal" and encode it to svcd pal.
But i donīt use the standard resultion 480x576 cuz i want black borders on the bottom and top.

The problem is when i play it on my dvd (standalone) the bottom border i "bigger" the the top border... why?
I chose "center costum size" when i encode.

Please tell me what u guys think is the best way to "rip" a vhs?

    Thax!

My favourite is/was VirtualDub with the huffyuv codec.
I have since switched to a DV camcorder with A-D pass through for convience.

Am in NTSC 480*480 world but your PAL 480*576 world it appears you are trying to make a SVCD correct??
Why do you need black borders??

Try 'croping' some of the video if you feel the need for black borders.

Yup, Virtualdub for me, has been for an age now.
I prefer the PicVideo MJPEG codec at quality 19/20, but that's just a personal preference (it gives me a smaller, workable file size).
