I have an Xvid file that virtual dubs file info indicates that no key frames are present. Is there away to insert k frames or will I have to reencode?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,

when you browse for the file to open there is a box you havve to check called extended pop up options or something like that. then you check rederive key frames.

Thanks for the advice. I really want to convert this film. I suppose that after i rederive the key frames I should resave the avi?

you can either save the new avi or frameserve it to your encoder without saving it.
