  1. Well, it prolly is an often asked question

I am going in for a new dvd burner. I want to choose between the LG GSA-4040B, TDK Indidvd, and the Panasonic LFD-521 might be the best options for me.
Does anyone have any critique on any of these drives?Personal experiences? WHat about the media write thing on multi format dvd burners?I'm not sure I have understood what the problem is. Seems like some burners have a problem writing in cheap/unbranded +r/-r discs.

Should I also consider the Sony drive? Going in for the LG drive will give me an added RAM option, though that isn't really important. WHat about the incoming plextor 8x +R speed?

I would really appreciate feedbacks since I don't want to end up buying a drive and realising that it won't write on most medias

  2. The link on the left for dvd burners should give you a lot of information on which one you want.

Me personally, I own the A05. It is a 1-4X -R burner and I have been really happy with it. I have used many a "cheap" media and haven't had consistent problem with any media. Is say it this way because I dont want you to think that I have never had a coaster due to the burner. You WILL make the occassional coaster.

  3. I finally decided upon the LG. I'll admit that the prospect of buying a 25-pack DVD-RAM to backup some of my data on my computer is what made me swing LG's way.
    I hope I've made a wise decision.

  4. Not a bad choice.

The DVD-Ram gives you the ability to add HD capabilities to your optical drive.
