I just got my first Apple two weeks ago and I've fallen in love with it. Part of making the switch means divx movies. I got the codec from divx.com, but that doesn't work with the majority of my files. Where do I get other codecs that will work on OSX?
Thanks!
...If you guys have any other persoanl suggestions as far as players, rippers, converters, etc., feel free to let me know. The switch is a learning expierence.![]()

i would think that "vlc" will play almost anything. Do a search at www.versiontracker.com

For viewing, by far the winner is Video Lan Client (www.videolan.org)
The runner up, in my opinion, is MediaPlayerX
memorize this site. ... www.versiontracker.com and / or www.macupdate.com
both have a GREAT search engine for OSX applications. Type in AVI Player and you will get these and others, but these are the best.
other apps, it all depends on what you want to do.
Most popular now would be dvd to dvdr i would think
check my website, its all spelled out, also svcd and other things
welcome to macintosh, and enjoy your mac -
QuickTime and DivX don't get along well at all. I tried all those DivX components for QuickTime and had poor if any results.
http://www.videolan.org VLC will play pretty much anything; because it is based on the QuickTime architecture."First god damn week of winter." --R.J. MacReady
