Cannot Delete Xvid Files

i have a little problem.. everytime i delete an xvid file it gives me the error "cannot delete xvid-xx: It is being use by another person or program"

even the files that i havent even tried to play in Media Player i cant delete it.. all other files such as .mpeg, .mov etc. theyre fine i can delete them whenever i want but the xvid files i cant.

any help would be greatly appreciated..

i to have had this problem a couple of times, what i do to get rid of it is just create a new folder and drag the avi file into it {not cut or paste} and then just delete the new folder, it usually works for me.
