Computer slow after Mcafee and Recordnow Max

I got the latest computer bug so I installed Mcafee. I got rid of the virus and got the latest patch from microsoft and installed it. I also have installed recordnow max 4.1. I then got this message about microsoft need to increase my virtual memory. I can now hear my hard drives working and it seems like my computer is using the hard drives for memory usage. Any way my computer is now really slow and unresponsive. Is there anything I can do to get my computer back to running good. I have a p3 800 with 256 meg ram. I think maybe I need to increase my ram but is there anything else I can do. Could Mcaffee or Recordnow max be utilizing too much ram???

It could be a lot of things but no harm in adding another 256MB. Also check your paging file settings in System Properties. It should be set to 384MB. Defrag your hard disk.

IMO McAfee is a poor anti-virus solution. If you think of changing check out Norton Internet Security
