Can I capture the Digital "Surround Sound" from a LD? If so what required equiptment do I need on the PC end. I have a LD player with fiber output, I have an Intel mobo that has fiber but I can't remeber if its input or output. Please help! Or is it even worth it? Should I just use the standard RCA cables into the Radeon 9800 card. Audio always seems poor when compared to the original source then the captured product.

the optical connection on your mobo is probbaly an output.
The newer creative labs soundcards have digital ins and outs, and probably aren;t too much money these days.
I used to do digital recordings of LD soundtracks, but have been using analogue since i got my ADVC-50, because it converts to 48Khz audio better than the software i was using does.
