I purchased avi_io several months ago and found it to be
the best video capture program ive used.
Ive used other capture utilties virtualdub, premire etc.
but all of those either dropped heaps of frames and/or
lost audio/video sync.Dont get me wrong, these are fantastic
programs, but if you have a slow computer like myself these
programs gave my heaps of headaches.
AVI_IO on the other hand, worked perfectly for me as the
program was written for low to high end compatabilty.
I have a Pentium II 333mhz 128mb Ram 4mb sis6326 video card
Flyvideo EZ2 tv tuner/capture card and a 3gig HD 5400rpm(i think)
And ive been able to capture video, up to 1 Hour without dropped frames and loss of video/audio sync.
I also use the PicVideo MJPEG codec for on-the-fly compression. I then used tmpeg to convert to VCD and worked fine.
Anyways its a great program if you dont have a 'Flash' Computer.
Phil
P.s. i gonna work on a web page with pics and settings i use for capture and VCD conversion so anyone can compare the qulaity.
