  1. I have the Panasonic E30. The Encore channels are going to be airing some tv shows I want to record. I want to record one episode, remove the disc so the recorder is free for other stuff, then replace disc the next day and record a second episode, then finalize. Any body tried this? Had any problems? I could do a trial, but just because it works once doesn't mean I won't have trouble.

Don't know about the Panasonic, but I've done this many times with my Sharp recorder. No problems loading in unfinalized discs even weeks later. In fact, I have a stack of unfinalized -RW discs that I plan to fill up some day with something.

  4. Thanks! Glad it works. Time Tunnel, Green Hornet, and Combat! are going to be on. They're going to look great recorded off a digital channel.

  5. Very cool. I agree it should not be a problem.

Better yet I've upgraded my cable box to a box which now offers DVR capabilities. My local cable company has been offering a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8000 box for only $7.00 per month. It has a hard drive and offers TIVO like features. Going to capture to the box and then burn using my panny.

    Thanks for the info!
