    Ouch!

Does that price include neon lights?

I still like my "Butterfly" thinkpad .....

Desktop, what can i say... it's white... and rectangular.. with a semitransparent blue Nike swoosh moulded into the front and a couple of similarly coloured oval buttons. I think that's pretty cool for £39.99
(what's the point? money spent on dolling it up would be better used to make the hardware better - first rule of hotrodding, vs ricing)

Though if there's any spraypaint left after I've finished touching up those scratches (..and the botched previous touchups with the wrong shade) on my car, i'll spray the computer case (and monitor case, speakers... keyboard, mouse?) that nice shade of navy blue to match. Even so it'll just look like a smaller, ever so slightly darker version of flaysus's's's...

How about painting an indians vs wagon train mural on the side of it, like a show-van?
Can metal/white-paint cases be inkjet transferred like t-shirts can?
-= She sez there's ants in the carpet, dirty little monsters! =-
Back after a long time away, mainly because I now need to start making up vidcapped DVDRs for work and I haven't a clue where to start any more!

G_shocker, are you trying to hook your computer up to your stereo?? It's really easy but I think I'm just not understanding what your question is about the stereo hookup.

BTW....I think the winner so far in my contest is b1r0i1a5n

He has the best looking computer setup

He has some of the best hardware I have ever seen.

And, of course he has the coolest looking case with the neon lights and clear side panels.

Dont count me out just yet, My friend Rob is helping me put my new system together this week. Should be finished by Saturday or Sunday. I have a thermaltake Xaser III Black case. It should look very good when we are finished.

    Here is my case:
    http://www.thermaltake.com/products/xaser3/v1000a.htm

I have a black 18in LCD monitor to go with it. And JBL Creature speakers.
By the way, how do I post a picture. I tried it before but it did not work.

Basically. I need a male HP jack to speaker wire wire. (I'm trying to skip having a receiver).

Oh yeah, not using a receiver makes things a bit more different. If you did decide to use a receiver your sound card has a line out and then all you need to buy is a wire from Radioshack or similar that has a headphone jack on one end for the PC and the red and white RCA jacks on the other end.

Just a word of advice, if you can use a receiver g_shocker, I would...I have my system hooked up and listening to music will never be the same...not to mention watching movies or playing games...the sound kicks ass!

I'm sure Radioshack will have what you're looking for if you haven't tried there yet.

Hope I was of some help man,

Do you think you can get the extra speakers you're talking about hooked up w/out a receiver? I really am not sure how someone would do that since I always thought you HAD to have a receiver in order to hook up your PC. I suppose you might be able to run all of the speakers just off the PC. That is if you have a pwrful enough system to support a load of speakers like you're talking about.

Well I don't need to blow away the house just a little music in a lot of speakers .

    Take a look:

    shocker,

sorry mate, unless the speakers you've got are designed to be used on a haedphone socket (like the crappy ones you get with portable cd players) then you're SOL.

Ordinary loudspeakers have different characteristics (namely impedance) than what a headphone socket is designed for. added to which, a 0.5watt headphone output is quite adequate, wheras even very sensitive hifi speakers would produce about 50db on .5 watts at 1 metre. 40db is normal background noise, so in a computer room, 50db wouldn't be noticeable.

You could either connect the extra loudspeakers to your sub/sat sytem (bad idea, these things have low powered amps to starts with!) or you'll have to add an extra amp.

I don;t know any good retailers that side of the pond, but something like the SONY TAFE230 would be perfect.

Well, I think flaninacupboard has given the best advice yet. But like he said, you may be SOL.

Hey G_shocka, when did you add more RAM???? I just noticed it says upgraded! under system specs.

How much did you have b4?

    256. Well, I know I'm not a true SOL because I did have that exact wiring before but I lost it.

Flan & pyrate, you think this will do?

Well i've seen more powerful gusts of wind, but you're thinking in the right direction!

I don't know why audio companies find it neccesary to give their equipment stupid names, and unrealistic performance values. Xplod? Xplod? whatever...
Much happier with a name like NAD C-370 personally, and i'd much sooner believe my amps 120 watt rating than the 760 watts on that thing. Could a cars' alternator even produce enough power for a real 760 watt amp??
I guess it just comes from the same school of thought that cars with lower suspension, bigger exhausts, dodgem sized bumpers and shiny wheels will go faster.........

I have never really understood the whole window on the side of the case thing. Everyone knows what goes on inside is witchcraft and voodoo and I like to keep it that way.

Thankfully, with MS at the helm, that should never change.....

  21. I once tried for about 10minutes to post a bmp image!

    I bolded key things:
Type [imgTEST]filename.gif[/img] in your post (minus the "TEST" text) where the image should be. JPG,GIF and PNG are the allowed formats and the max file size is 50 KB. To add more images or update them, first post one image and then click on the EDIT button on your post.
Note! Replace filename.gif with the file name of the image and don't have any spaces in the filename. Don't use the Preview if you are uploading images.
And, if you want another site to host it, just

  26. SLICK RICK that looks so cool man!

Do you know if you can buy those keyboards seperately? I have the mouse and cost like £50, so don't want to go having to buy a full new desktop set to have them matching.

I am really not sure because I purchase mine as a set. I have seen just the mouse sold by itself many times but never just the keyboard. But I will let you know if I ever do come across one.

I did some searching on newegg.com for you. It looks like they have the corded model for sale separatly, but not the wireless.

  29. Thanks, I have been looking somewhat myself, but never found one.

Is that the PC you built from the suggestions topic you had?

I've got to say I love the scanner propped on top of the opened cardboard box.
