  1. Hello, after a reinstall i decided to install my videocapturing progs. Before the reinstall everything worked perfectly (using premiere 6.0).

    Now:

When i try to install 6.5 it goes good but then when i open it it closes down after loading a couple of settings (in which you see the countdowntimer).
    I dont get any errors.

In 6.0 i can't control my camera. I get the ever popular error "the dv device is unavailable for device control". I searched everywhere but nowhere did someone post the solution (only the problem).

Now i don't know what to do

    Anyone can help ?

I'm using the updated WinXP with directx 8.1. I got a JVC DVcamera and a standard firewire card wich is recognized by windows.

  2. i dont know how to fix the problem your having but i think you can
    go around it.

if your problem is importing from your camera to the computer, you can import the video using other software, and than edit with premier.

i think you can import using moviemaker (it comes with windows xp)
you can even edit it with moviemaker, add things to it if you want to.

just an idea, i hope it helps.

I'd suggest checking the Adobe forums and knowledgebase. I have had no problems with 6.0 or 6.5 under Windows ME or 6.5 under XP Pro so I can't be much help. I had some errors with one of the installs, but so far it hasn't caused any problems running. I capture from a Sony TRV-30 on a firewire port.
