your source may play ok but that doesn't mean it will be in sync after a demux.

Like chrissyboy says if you can play your mpeg on your computer it doesn't mean it is a good mpeg file. The only way you can besure the file is ok is when you made it yourself.
You can also just reencode the audio en mux it with the old video it will take less time and won't loose you quality.

thx again,
how you mean that :
You can also just reencode the audio en mux it with the old video it will take less time and won't loose you quality.
at the moment ill encode the mvcd source file with tmpgenc to an svcd with the standad template.
is this not an good way ?
or have you an better one ?
thx

There is a sure way that is reencoding it cause you know then your mpg is ok.
Or a fast way to get it sink by just reencoding the audio for the old mpg to a new .mp2 file and mux it with the old video (.m2v file), but you won't be sure the audio is sync

i have reencode the 650 MB MVCD file to an "normal" svcd...
but now is the file over 2 Gig large.
is there another step to get the new encoded file not much bigger as the source mvcd with 650 MB ?
thx h2h -
I you want a smaller file you need to change the bitrate or vbr might help. But i sugest you try reenconding the audio first.
1. start tmpgenc
2. close wizard.
3. use browse button next to video source load your mvcd there.
4. click load button search the svcd template.
5. click load button again and find unlock.mcf
6. select the stream type ES audio only
7. press start.
then mux the .mp2 file you get with the .m2v file you get when you demux the mvcd file.

Got know clue to anwser that i need the information on your file..
It is hard to give anwser when you don't know the file specifics. like size, width, height, framerate, audio rate etc.

okay thx...
thx for your idea
i have grab the sound with tmpgenc to 48 khz and than demux the video...
after that i have author the stuff with dvdlab to see if the dvd is sync....
and finaly .. its okay..
but can you tell me how i can mux the 2 files? i want to wirk after the muxing wit svcd2dvd again.
and another question...
when i have the sound on 48 khz and muxed with the video file does svcd2dvd change something on this mpeg...
thx ...
h2h -
the reverse way of demuxing with tmpgenc. demultiplex and multiplex.. 1 has 1 input 2 output the other has 2 input and 1 output..
depends on the settings you set svcd2dvdmpg to.. If you do something to the header then yes.

thx for your help .. you doing an great job.
another question ....
is there an programm out that can check an mpeg file and show me if its an good source .. or an source where so wrong ime/pts settings ?!
that would be much better .. when i can analyze the video file first with an little tool....
an not testing it like author first ect -
If you want to author vcd on dvd or svcd on dvd you need the same files as the info say in the what is part of this site. Only the audio needs to be 48khz.
About a tool i don't know i normaly use bsplayer and a mpeg 2 codec to check what the information on the file is. But i believe chrissyboy might give you a name for a tool you can use.

you say
" normaly use bsplayer and a mpeg 2 codec to check what the information on the file is "
but can you see with this apps if a source file have wrong PTS settings ?
that i know .... i must prepare the file first... or i can go directly to svcd2dvd.
hope chrissyboy give an comment too.. -
I know of no tool which will tell you if your sources are 100%.
