I am interested in a cheap DVD Player that plays back DVD-RAM recorded on my DVD recorder.
Can someone please provide any models available?
Thanks,
Bob

I got a Toshiba SD1216 (i think thats the right number). Anyway it cost about £30 in the UK.
You also might be interested in the Pannasonic DVD writer, Ive seen that around for £80-£90 or so..That writes to DVD RAM as well...I did have one but it seemed a bit unreliable so i changed it for a Pioneer 105. -
Not sure if you are looking for set top players, or computer players. For set top, Panasonic has a new line of players out. All will use DVD-RAM. Prices range from $85 to $150 depending on features.
For computer use Panasonic and Toshiba, and one of the new "discount" writers will use -RAM. Panasonic models go in numbered order. Higher number ----> newer writer. Starting at LD-D2xx, 310/311, 321, 521, whatever the new one is. Read only DVD-ROM/RAM can be had for under about $80. All prices in USDollars.Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they? -
Thanks,
I picked up a Panasonic DVD-35S today for $79 less $20 mail in rebate!
It should complement my DVD Recorder.

HHmm..Thats wot I thought. Didnt compliment my Set Top recorder well at all. It just didnt seem to recognise half of my DVD-R discs nor most of mr OFFICIAL panasonic DVD RAM discs, which seemed wierd ..although i have spoken to people who gave it great reviews !.
Anyway. Thought Id try and burn a DVD (Video_ts folder) onto the RAM disc (one that worked) and see wot happened if i put that in the panny DMR E30 and hey presto !..ha..it didnt work. I think the panny set top only accepts DVD RAM discs with the files in VRO format -
I sure hope it works! I only tried a DVD-Ram I recorded in my E-80 and it worked. I have not yet tried a DVD-R.
