    I have a Panasonic DVD Recorder DMR E30. By finalizing DVD-R discs I make them into DVD-Video. But if I finalize a DVD-RAM disc would it become playback only or would I be able to delete that program later and record a new one??

    I don't think the concept of "finalizing" is ever valid with DVD-RAM discs. Check your manual, but I don't think that "finalizing" is stritcly applicable to DVD-/+R.
