  1. i have burned some cheap dvd-r's (bulkpaq 4x generation) with an optorite dd0203 writer.
when i use power dvd or intervideo windvd4 on my pc they sometimes work and sometimes do'nt
but they all work perfectly on my cheap pacific standalone dvd player (bought from asda for £48)
is this normal for dvd-r's to work on stand alone and not with pc?
i thought it was other way about lol
i kind of think it's coz of cheap media also i have burned them with different methods.
but as i say they ALL work with my cheapo standalone.
can anyone shed any light on the subject?

  3. i've got one of those pacific dvd1002 players from asda too. it'll play anything you throw at it quite happily and what's even better- you get a three year guarantee!

  4. I ran into a situation recently where PowerDVD would not read a disc and my stand-alone DVD player would. However, WinDVD did read it also.

This only happens when I burn with Nero 6. What did you use for your burning?

  5. when i use maxrecord now at medium speed they play on anything but not at full speed.
when i use nero 6 it only lets me burn at 4x for some reason and those are the ones that only work on standalone and not windvd or power dvd.
