  1. Wondering who really made that bargain dvdr you're wondering about? Once I ordered a "Demo pack" to test media brand compatibility with my recorder from a company who sent them in UNLABELED paper sleeves. Unbelievable, but true. Fortunately I was able to use Nero's CDSpeed.exe to identify the manufacturer and speed of each disk. Since there are regular posts requesting info about some particular DVDR media, I thought it useful mention this freeware program that can ID media by manufacturer and speed. Download it at http://www.cdspeed2000.com/go.php3?link=download.html
Just put the disk in the drive, open the program, select the drive, click on the "extra" tab and select "disk info". Voila! Shows original manufacture and disk speed.
