  1. I have a Napa DAV311 and a bunch of CD-R VCD's that I got from a friend. The problem is that the VCD's are PAL and my TV is NTSC. So I put them in my player and hit the PAL/NTSC button and it fixes the vertical line problem and gives me color back. The problem is that the screen size doesnt' fit right and the subtitles of the movie are just low enough that you can't read them. I tried to reencode my PAL VCD as a NTSC VCD using the process in the Convert How-To. I then re-burned it using Nero 5.5. But my DAV311 still thinks that its a PAL VCD and I have to manually switch it over. Then the same problem happens where you can't read the subtitles!! If anybody know any info that can help me please let me know. THX. Laterz.
