I have the PVR-350. Since I don't have a DVD burner I am experimenting with 352x480 VBR CVD captures to burn to CD. I have been using VBR settings of 1500 and 2500 which have looked good for standard 4:3 broadcasts. Then I recorded a program on the Scifi Channel that was Letterbox and it didn't look as nice. Looks like digital artifacts making it less sharp/fuzzy. Does it have anything to do with the lower horizontal resolution being stretched (novice comment here)? Anyone know what is going on here?
Thanks
Edit: I looked at it again and it looks ok when there is high contrast. It looks bad when you get the low contrast parts of the show which seem to occur frequently.
