  1. I just used MainConcept MPEG Encoder to encode some divx files I have to CVD. Its very fast and the quality is nice, but there is a weird problem with it. I have an anime series that are about 24 min long and when I use MainConcept to encode, the last two or three mins of the episode freezes. I tried encoding 12 of the episodes and they all turn out the same way. I tried converting it using TMPG and it works fine. Anybody have any suggestions?

  4. I scanned it and it turned out that its not bad frames. Its not the video file either. I tried it with about fifteen video files that are about 24 minutes long and it always freezes at the last two or three minutes. I tried encoding it with TMPG and it turns out fine. Nobody knows what is wrong?

  5. I have had the same problem, I do not know as to why it happens, but it is to do with the frame rate, chances are your input video source is lower than the output frame rate (23.986fps - 29.97fps)

To solve this, I made sure, the input and output frames per second match, I selected the Mpeg 2 option, rather than use the DVD option. once encoded, I use Pulldown.exe to do what it does, then I can take it into my Authoring program, and all works perfectly.

    Hope that made sense

  6. I had this problem too, and from reading the MainConcept forums it seems that this is a bug in the version 1.3.1 encoder. Version 1.4 is now in beta and apparently solves this problem.

  7. It's just the stupid way MCE handles frame rate change, simply speeding it up or slowing it down without dropping or inserting frames. Often video ends but audio plays on. Can't believe they didn't think this though. TMPG does a much better job on this.
