  1. If this has been answered before, please excuse me.

I bought the above pkg. I had a TV program on a VHS tape. I successfully captured the part I wanted. I went throught the editing steps, and got to the Make Movie part. The software rendered, compiled, etc. When I went to burn to disc I got "unknown burn error."

If Studio is going to be a pain in the ass with this part, how should I proceed (if I indeed can) with another burning program? I have Nero 6.

I don't want any fancy titles or anything; I just want to save this bit of video to a DVD+R so I can watch it in a stand alone player and not have to worry about the VHS tape wearing out. My burner is a NEC ND-1100A. Thanks for any & all suggestions.

  2. I had a simular problem with 2 computers using Studio 8. One has a Sony dru500a with Moviebox DV and the other has a Pioneer 104 with Moviebox USB. After much screwing around and many coasters I updated my firmware and uninstalled Nero's InCD wich I didn't need anyway because the computers are networked togeather, and the problem seems to be solved. Good luck and don't forget, you're having fun. .............. harrymj3

  3. Studio 8 can't seem to burn my homemade DVDs right either. I have Moviebox and your burner, too, and I use another way.

In the settings menu (in the "Make Movie" tab), select "Create Disc content, but don't burn". Then wait for it to make the movie and download IMGTool Classic. Once all that is done, specify your source (the created disc content, folder should say "dvd") in ImgTool Classic and it will create a disc image for you (an ISO file). Burn the ISO file with your burning program (my NEC 1100A came with Easy CD/DVD Creator 5, which will do this). Let me know if you have any questions.

  4. I just made a couple of DVD-R discs with Studio last night that turned out very nice. I decided to make some more from the files with Studio again this morning. Guess what? One good disc and four coasters. I'm going back to my old procedure: Capture with Studio at full quality, encode the captured files with TMPGEnc Plus, author and make chapters with SpruceUp, burn with Nero Express. This works very well with great results for captures from Moviebox USB or Moviebox DV. If Studio was reliable it would be nice to just setup your project, hit create disc and have your movie done when you come home from work. Oh well, maybe that's just asking too much. ........ harrymj3
