Hi! Can anyone here give me any capture card suggestions. I am looking for analog connection(S-VIDEO), i would like to be able to capture at 720x480 with little frame loss(preferrable AVI)and I think it can be any type of card accept AGP(cuz I want to hook up either a 128MB or 256MB Geforce Card for gaming). Looking to spend no more then 200.00. Suggestions please? Thanks for your time and help!

I like two card's Dazzle 2 pci card and ATI ALL IN WONDER's. Dazzle 2 is better for Satellite dish and Laser disc but ATI ALL IN WONDER is better for VHS capture's. For a good ATI AIW you can get one cheep at www.pricewatch.com for the Dazzle 2 first go to www.dazzlegeek.com some mother board's do not work with the Dazzle 2 to buy Dazzle 2 cheep go to
http://www.shopharmony.com/
It all come's down to what you want to capture.
I do not like AVI capture card's I like real time MPEG2 card's I record at 97000 CBR and if the DVD is to big to fit on a DVD-R then I transcode it down when I did star wars with my Dazzle 2 CloneDVD did a better job then DVD2ONE but it's always' good to do your own test. One program might work better on some job's then other's.
Also thee are timer for the dazzle 2 if your not home to record -
I've found a home with the ATi AIW Radeon cards. I have a 7500 and love it to death. I've captured everything from VHS to Laserdisc, and I have yet to have anyone tell me they could tell the difference between the DVD and the original.
I got my 7500 not even a year ago and then it was $150, so it shoudl be $100 or sub $100 now. Worth every penny. -
Questions guys? First off LordSmurf where can I find that card? Secondly where can i find the dazzle card. Also can these cards both handle what I want to do?
thanks for all the help!

Sorry one other question, does anyone know if they make something that would allow me to run my monitor from 2 cards(like and AGP and a PCI). You know sorta like a splitter and if they do where could I get one?
thanks again

Just search eBay for "ati wonder pci" or "ati aiw pci" and it should bring back results
The cards are ATI AIW Radeon DDR32 cards -aka- ATI AIW Radeon 7200 or 7000 cards.
They are worth about $80 each, after shipping. Any less is a better bargain, any more would be a rip.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

If your OS and the cards support it, yes. The ATI AIW cards use Hydravision for dual displays and desktop management. I've seen it in use, kinda cool, just never done it myself.Originally Posted by Jake802Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

What about the DAC 100, will that fill your needs. It is an external device so it will not take up your AGP slot and it is about 200$. You may be able to find it cheaper if you look around. I just purchased the ADVC 100 and it works great, but I hear the DAC works just as good as the ADVC 100 and costs 100$ less.
