    Hi there

I am very new to all this, any help much appreciated.

When i use Nero to covert and burn avi, the audio is fine but the aspect ratio is out.
So i use tmpeg to convert the avi and get a correct aspect ratio , which is fine, but for some reason any vcd i burn where i have converted with TMPEG i have an audio click/ beep noise through outt the vcd. I have even used virtual dub to convert the audio to wav any use that but no difference. I have checked the file after converting with tmpeg and it sounds fine, only when burnt to cd i have the noise, but as mentioned before- any thing burnt that hasnt been coded with tmpeg the audio is fine.
I haven't changed any audio settings , could that be where i need to look.
    Hope someone can help.
    Thanks!

  2. it could actually be a few things including your DVD player. When I use to make vcd's, they would play fine ony my dvd player, however, when put in a toshiba, I would get clicking/chirping sounds. One possibility is the audio rate is to low. There are a few possibilities.

If you are wanting to convert AVI or DVD to VCD, CVD,SVCD, or DVD, you might want to try an app called dvd2svcd. It automates 95% of the stuff you have to do and sets everything up for you(sort of). Anyway, download it from www.dvd2svcd.org and try it out. If after using this software, you still have the problem. post back.

Try out vcdeasy to make bin/cue files which are compliant vcd image files and then burn them as image files and see if that helps.

    Hi thankyou for the responces,

Although i dont think it is my dvd player as there is no beep noise and the audio is fine if i do a straight forward conversion and burn with nero.(only aspect ratio is out).

I will try the programs though and see how i go

    Thanks again...

If you try out the dvd2svcd for the avi file make sure you choose 16:9(borders added, encoded as 4:3) for aspect ratio if its widescreen and 4:3(no borders added, encoded as 4:3) for fullscreen, otherwise dvd2svcd will encode widescreen avi in the 4:3(no borders added, encoded as 4:3) as its default and the picture will come out stretched

I tried using dvd2svcd but when encoding , the program goes to tmpeg to encode but it just goes round in a loop encoding to video, it has done it 5 times now and still going (with no outut file).
I tried burning with easy vcd , that also had the noise. When burning with Nero the noise was gone but only if i burn a file where i haven't changed the aspect ratio with tmpeg.
    Still trying dvd2vcd
