I have just installed a second hard drive into my pc.
The drive is in Device Manager, but not in My Computer. It is also listed in the bios.

Can someone advise on what I need todo to get the drive working and formatted.

    Thanks in advance.

Manuals and disks come w/ hard drives for a reason, i'm sure the manual explains how to partition the drive and probally includes a utility to do so.

It won't show/be accessible till it's fdisked/formatted. Windows knows nothing about the drive till you do that.

I've only ever bought one drive that was already formatted, a Samsung 60 gig. Surprised the hell outa me.

This is not correct. If you are running ME or XP right click on MY Computer and then select manage. Activate and format the drive as NTFS any problems please post back.

All sorted now working fine. Thanks guys for replys.

Misleading though, bought a 120gb hard disc. Formats to 111gb.

9gb due to the 1000 bytes to 1024.
