  1. Well ill make this as simple as I can, I load Movie Factory, and I add my DVD Encoded MPEG that was encoded from the SVCD using CCE, when I load the mpeg-2 (DVD Compliant file ) (133 min long), i used the AviScript calculator to calculate the bitrate (gave me 4200) and when I load it onto my Factory Program, it comes out as 5.7 gig DVD, when it shouldnt, and when I goto the setting I check "do not convert complaint mpeg" and the size minimizez but its still over 4.37 gig coverage. I swear sometimes I get really annoyed with it and makes me want hit the uninstall...HEHE

    My solution:
    --------------------
IfoEdit + DVD Decrypter = came out flawlessly Perfect...

Now can someone please tell me why it wouldnt work that smooth in Movie Factory? I dont think that when I created the MENU it really takes up 1 gig? thnxs

  2. You might try the new file size estimate zip file mentioned in this FAQ for Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2:

  3. I haven't tried the patch mentioned here yet but would this help with my problem which is...

The DVD file size estimate in MovieFactory 2 never changes when I make changes to the video encoding settings. I can make drastic changes to my MPEG settings (e.g. use MGEG audio at 224kbps, reduce bitrate to the minimum 1700 or so) and the file size estimate never changes and when I get to the burning stage it warns me I won't have enough room on my empty DVD+RW. In this case I was burning 2 .avi files (allowing MF2 to make the conversion to DVD MPEG) with a total running time of a bit less than 2 hours. No matter what settings I pick, MF2 insists this will require a bit over 5 GB of disc space. Crap.

  4. Personally, I approach the work flow in a different (and easier) way.

I encode my final, edited DV .avi to MPEG using my video editing program.

Since I don't believe in reducing the quality of my video "just to make it fit" on a DVD, I create my video - in advance - knowing that my DVD disc will hold only 4.37gb of material.

So when I encode my final, edited DV .avi to MPEG using my video editing application, I know I cannot create an MPEG greater than 4.37gb in size.

So I simply don't exceed the 4.37gb file size.

When it comes time to import the finished MPEG into Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2, I'm no longer even attempting to rely on a file size estimation scheme.

I know my file will fit, because it is smaller than 4.37gb.

Since my project settings in Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2 are identical to the attributes of the video, there is no re-encoding.

The file simply gets burned to disc.
