ATI AIW 9700 Pro Capture VHS-> Clean Image-> Burn to D

Ok I been reading a lot of forum messages and some video capture guides and some are old and don't apply anymore and have an idea about Virtual Dub but no way ir idea of how to configure it the same with other tools.

I have a VHS in SP mode with 3 hours want to capture it with my ATI AIW 9700 Pro with the best quality posible.

The steps are capture then clean the image and then brun to DVD

What are my choices if I want to edit an clean the video first?
¿ MPEG ? ¿ AVI ? ¿Can I capture 3 continue hours with no frames lose?

The tools for cleaning the image an remove noise any suggestions
I'm testing Canopus Procoder and it's great.

When I have ready my clean capture video I pretend to use Ulead
DVD movie Factory2 when arrives my DVD burner of course.

My computer especifications:

MB Intel 850GB PIV 1.6Ghz
Memory: 256 800Ghz RIMMS
Primary HD: Seagate 7200 FAT32 only 20gigs Free
Secondary HD: WD 7200 FAT32 5 Gigs free only
Video Card: ATI AIW 9700 Pro
SoundCard: Soundblaster Audigy2

Want tips or a better guide from people that already did this.

To get the best capture quality, use a lossless or near lossless avi codec. Huffy's or MJPEG can do the job nicely. However, it seems you have very limited disk space. MJPEG codec captures at quality of 18 uses about 5 gigs for every 45min. So that may not be the best option to go. You should just capture straight to MPEG using 640x480 or higher resolution. Then you can use one of the many video editors to edit it and use a encoder to encode it. VHS captures generally do not need the full dvd resoulution. Half-D1 is enough(352x480 NTSC). Then author the video using your favorite authorer and burn away. To minimize frame loss, defrag your hd first.

BTW, I think you should use either Win2k or WinXp for capturing since it does not have the 4gig limit and is much more stable than other versions of windows. Also, you should upgrade your memory to 512 if your are using either OS.

Some questions ¿Half-D1 is enough(352x480 NTSC) how do I do this?

What put me 4Gig limit to capture ¿software ? ¿OS ? or ¿ HD
FAT or NTFS partition ? How to avoid this
