    I know it's a stupid question, but i don't know much about computer so, i am wondering how to convert avi files into mpeg. And if i need to d/l an encoder of some sort where could i do it? well thanks ^__^

    This is not a stupid question. I've been researching this topic for a while. I have even downloaded several different types of codec software that is suppose to help convert AVI files to MPEG files. None have worked so far. ( I have even paid for the software and cannot use it ). Hopefully someone out there can help us out.

    To convert avi to mpeg a great programme is tmpgenc.
    It can convert many formats of movie file to mpeg 1 using the free version and mpeg 2 - DVD using the paid version.
