actually, i'm listening to the theme of grange hill, with a voiceover from jesica stevenson saying how she knocked down the girl playing netball. But she won the game.

Right now, I hear the ceiling fan making a soft hum above my desk.
I also hear my HP200i and it's soft whine as it burns the title set for the video of the 30 year picnic my company just put on for us.
I hear the clink of my 1/4 full bottle of white wine (it was full an hour ago).
In about an hour, I will hear the gentle rustle of the sheets as me and my wife crawl into bed after a nice day of working in the yard.
Nothing nasty, maybe a little cheese, some wine, and a little television before going to sleep.

Went a bit retro the last week... played a few old tapes in my car and now making some much-needed 'new' tapes from old CDs.
Today: freshly recorded tape of Stereophonics' "Word Gets Around" (quintessential britpop era early-70s styled retro-rock - soon to be joined on side B by Performance and Cocktails).
Last song played, then rewound to start next journey - "Same Size Feet". Powerful, slow track. Awesome live - a live session version of it popping up during random repeat on an old minidisc inspired the dubbing.
And a brace of classics before that... Local Boy in the Photograph (dance, damn your eyes!!), 1000 Trees, More Life in a Tramps Vest, Traffic (good rush-hour driving music... etc etc.
Before that, some Skunk Anansie (female rock vocalist who can be powerful without becoming masculine - need more), Oasis (masterplan - shows their decline in how an early days b-sides album is far preferable to the last three albums), Fatboy Slim (YCALWB - the man can do no wrong), Levellers (occasionally just a little too gypsy for comfort, but usually very good), and..... sadly.... the last play of my dear departed early-albums Bon Jovi tape. The poor old (ancient!) C120 simply couldn't bear the repeat strain any more and went out in a blaze of rock... before snapping as i hit the seek+ button to skip past one good tune in favour of a great one.
Anyone picked up any fresh ideas out of that, or is it all far too old hat?
(i havent had the money, time, or contemporary knowledge to pick up any new music of late - last purchases being Morcheeba's Charango, and debut singles of Electric 6 and Junior Senior... thought about getting Moloko's latest but had to drop it. since then... feh. what's good music news for me, guys?)-= She sez there's ants in the carpet, dirty little monsters! =-
Back after a long time away, mainly because I now need to start making up vidcapped DVDRs for work and I haven't a clue where to start any more! -

Pimp Juice? ....Kieran, is that you?
Don't forget "The Seed" by The Roots. A song plainly and simply about sex, but somehow it seems so beautifully, if you will, conceived.-= She sez there's ants in the carpet, dirty little monsters! =-
