@MackemX....a couple of things I want to mention..and take it for what it's worth. You seem to have a tendency to be one of those who honestly believe you know it all. You put smiley faces at the ends of your sentences after you say "I'M 99% RIGHT ALL THE TIME" or You know it all...you're a master...etc.
The truth is, i've ready plenty of your posts which are very informative..but i've also read a fair share which aren't so "MASTERFUL." You also made it a point in another post to say that some people just seem to get into these altercations quite a bit. But what I find interesting is that you've been in as many, if not, more altercations then anybody on this site. So if that isn't the pot calling the kettle black..I don't know what is.![]()
Even more interesting is that you've even admitted your tendency to get into these types of altercations. Not only on this site ..but others as well..such as Doom9 with 2CooL...and others. I don't post over there, so I don't know...but i'll take your word for it.![]()
As far as some people needing to be spoonfed and how people shouldn't respond to the newbies posts...well, i'm gonna just flat out say that's your opinion..and we know what opinons are like. I'm gonna further say...your opinon there is extremely weak because if a person has the sense to be able to create an account and type a basic question...then they have the sense to hit ONE BUTTON "SEARCH" and search the forum.
Take a look at this link. It's the forum AUP
https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=124514
Look at the very first "BLUE FONT" statement. Not the THIRD STATEMENT...NO...NOT THE SECOND STATEMENT...THE FIRST STATEMENT.
It says very CLEARLYThat really isn't a difficult concept to grasp. Take your lazy arse and research your question first. These aren't my rules..they are the FORUMS. If someone doesn't like it...then tough......Please try to do some basic research before posting.
Most fundamental questions are answered on the How To's on this site.
And don't misunderstand me...I agree that newbies have just as much of a right to post as anyone else...but not when they are basically abusing the forum and asking questions which have been asked HUNDREDS if not, THOUSANDS OF TIMES. And as far as "leaving the post alone goes"....most of the time I personally do when they are the "BEST" type posts. I used to respond to those all the time...but quickly realized that one just gets created when the other one fades away..it's a very sad , never ending chain. So I rarely bother with the "best" "vs" type posts.
The posts I was referring to are the ones where people ask for help...they get it...but when they don't want to hear the answer they were looking for....they respond by saying...no...that isn't it...no this isn't it......so now the person who should of researched to begin with..has INSTANTLY BECOME THEIR OWN "MASTER" and have answered their own questions.
So why did they ask it to begin with? Sure, they are wrong most of the time..but so what...they want to believe they are right.
So now they've wasted not only their time...but the time of the ones who responded to their posts as well. If research was done in MOST of these cases.....just as the forum AUP requests....then these types of posts would be VERY minimal...and so would the altercations which result from them.![]()
