I just got a new iPod the other day. I got the 10GB, whoch holds about 2500 songs. It rules!! I can't wait to have it during class, should make boring classes I normally sleep in go much faster!!

Curious...
Which of the classes do you find boring?Just what is this reality thing anyway? -
Last semester I couldn't stay awake in Calculus....or Psychology.....or Geography. Man I hate school!

Psychology is a cool class, but then, I enjoy life on the strange side.
I see your point about Geography. Why dod you chose it, surely it isn't a required course?
EDIT---
Believe it or not, I've even used calculus in my job! Now my daughter is in pre-calc, looks like I will have to dust off some cobwebsJust what is this reality thing anyway? -

Man, it's a shame to let a crap course do that to your GPA.
I made a 'C' in Archery, knocked me out of graduating Summa Cum Laude, by 0.004 points!Just what is this reality thing anyway? -

I like a lot of music. I have about 8,000 mp3s, but I've sorted through them to find only the ones I really want. The others are backed up on 6 DVD-Rs. Plus I have 3 DVD-Rs filled with music videos. I love good music! -
Does the iPod support VBR MP3? How about WMV, and does it have a removeable drive?
I am in the process of transferring my whole CD collection to MP3, I just might ask for one for Xmas this year.
EDIT ---
Never mind, found the answers on cnet. Looks like a nice box!Just what is this reality thing anyway? -

Just checked out the link, why didn't you spring for the 30 Gb model? You know you wanted it
Just what is this reality thing anyway? -
Evonne got it for me for our 3 year anniversary, and she doesnt have a lot of extra cash for to spring for the 30GB version. Plus I only have 6.1GB of MP3s on my computer.

I think you can, but you'd have to look it up on a hack page or something.

Yeah, that'll win you points with your woman. Break the anniversary gift the first week you have it!

And you have to do it all yourself. -

I can't remember if that was the correct way, but there are countless sites with directions how to on it.
The village idiot, there are two different types of firmware. As yours is the 10GB model i guess it is pretty new. To get to the format menu you do the following:
1. hold down eax button, hold down centre screen button, hold down down arrow button.
2. press the on button whilst holfing down the above three buttons and keep holding the three buttons until it says preparing library. There should now be a format/cleanup menu.
Its useful if you want to reload your whole music collection onto a clean drive.
You can easily upgrade any jukebox to 20GB, I don't know about 60GB because I don't think the battery can sustain it. (I have a jukebox 1 and the batts last for 4 hrs on the original 6GB HDD.)
Just for the record, mine ius one of the early models.
BTW: do you ever get the problem where you load about 7 albums into the playlist and it crashes when you move track? -
Nope, no eax button. No center screen button.
It is the older style machine, model just after the 6000. Only has on button, menu button and the 4 way game pad type play/stop/fwd/rev button.
I get about 6+ hours out of 1800 mah batteries. But only when I charge them in an external charger. If I charge the batteries in the pukebox, it corrupts the file system and gives me clicks and pops in the music when I play it. Then it is time for a format and 2 hours+ to reload the music. I think it only transfers at about 1 Mbps. Took 45 minutes to transfer 2.4 GB of music a little while ago. I now have 185MB of free space.
If the iPod had batteries that could be changed, I would have bought one of those. But the ability to use AA batteries out weighed the only benefits.
I think I might buy a used 6000 or something to play with. Maybe put a PCMCIA hard drive in it so that it is really small.Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... Sorry, can't help you out then
, but I'm sure you can find out uprade info on yours on the internet

@The village idiot. You never told me it was an archos jukebox. Mine is a nomad jukebox.
Anyway, not to leave you feeling dissapointed, a quick search in google turned this up:

Oh yeah, sorry 'bout that. I forgot that Creative calls theirs a jukebox too. That is the one I normally recommend to people who don't want to spend the money for an iPod.
Archos can kiss my ..... Their tech support is every bit as good as Razzle's was. Even better because the warranty is shorter. Don't expect an answer from Archos until your warranty is expired! I ended up taking mine apart to fix it. can you believe that the case they used is so weak that it will flex and rub against the disk drive's spindle. This causes all kinds of errors.
Thanks for the link, I have a few if others people are interested.Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they? -
I just got the 30gb one last week from the States. They are all sold out in the Uk - six week wait apparently. I think it is one of the best gadgets around.
That bloody ID3 tagging though is a right pain in the arse though. -
They look like a cool gadget. Still a little too pricey for my budget ($595 for the 10GB model).
Oh well, looks like I will still be using CD's and Discman for awhile yet. -
