hey i just bought NEC ND1300A X4 Speed from www.bigpockets.co.uk
i was wondering it didnt come with any cables or anything so are the cables actcullaly in the computer itslef or do i have tp buy some cables or is it ready to install??
thanks for help cause my dad being a total ass thinking ive wasted money on it

You connect it similiar as a cd-rom. You may need a extra ide cable(if you only have one and it is already in use).

lol@your dad, you should be in luck. That is awfully cheap of NEC not to include any IDE Cables but what you need to do (hopefully) is you can slave your DVD burner off of your hard drive or cd-drive. There should be on a standard IDE cable three connectors on it. One goes into the motherboard. Then there two others which are usually closer in range. Just plug one of the emtpy ones into the back of your DVD drive. Then you need to connect the power connection to it. Those are the yellow red black cables. Good luck!

hey thanks for your replys this is what ive done so far ive installed the dvd writer but now i have a problem how much spare space do i have to have on my pc for this drive cause every time i turn on my pc and log on it comes up a blue screen with writing saying might not have a enoigh space and starts saying shit about "bios" opr some thing it say if this is your first time seeing this then restart or its because you dont have enough space .
anyway thanks if somebody could tell me where im going wrong that would be great by telling me how much space i need that would be cool thanks
