I used Magix Foto auf VCD, SVCD, DVD to create my own SVCD from family photos, then Nero to burn the SVCD. But when I used my CD-ROM to play the SVCD, with the sofware Jet-Audio from Cowon, it could not be played. Jet Audio plays VCDs without any problems.

I was able to play the VCD with Power DVD. But the back ground color of all my sildes was changed to white.

I would appreciate your opinions & comments.

SVCD is mpeg 2, whereas VCD is mpeg 1. "Everything" can play mpeg1, but to play mpeg2, a mpeg2 decoder, that's not included in Windows, has to be present. This is probably the reason for JetAudio not being able to play your SVCD.
Software DVD players, like PowerDVD, come with their own mpeg2 decoder (since DVD contains video in mpeg2 format), so that's why you can play SVCD with PowerDVD.
I'd say that if your pictures have a white BG, it's what it is in the mpeg. In other word, it's Magix Foto that uthored it so.

    Thanks, Mats.

The strange thing is that when I played this same SVCD on another machine with Windows XP and Power DVD, the background color remained unchanged, i.e., as I intended.

Now that's strange - could you post a screen shot of the 2 different displays?

    Hi Mats:

Sorry I did not reply to your message sooner. I really don't know how to show you the two screens.

Anyway, a friend of mine told me it's probably my monitor's fault.

    Thanks for your kind responses.
