  2. I get that with corrupt DiVX files. Run the DivFix program to see if there are any errors, then frun the avidefreeze app to fix them if there are. After that TMPGEnc should work fine...

  3. Ya, i have a divx file just like that, and TMPG freaks out with the same error at a point in the movie where an explosion occurs, and the screen goes completely white. I ran it thru VDub, tossed in a very small contrast filter, no more problems.

  4. Nope.............
I ran the .avi through divx-fix...nema problema.
Tried to convert with TMPG again but it halts at the same spot as before
Then I separated the video and the audio with virtualDub
and tried to remerge them into one .mpeg file.....But NOOOOOOO..
and to Gryphin..It is not very bright or dark or anything
special with the frame that halts TMPG....
    THX anyway

  5. ive had that before. are you using 12a? goto that spot in the movie, and you will find some error. try re-downloading.

  6. Nope IŽm using 12i.
IŽm sure that it is an error somewhere but divx-fix canŽt
    find it for me,,,,so ?????
Last thing I tried was to re-derive the keyframe flags with virtualDub..But there were errors
Re-DL is an option but it takes sooooooo long....

  7. Last time I had this problem, I used vdub to re-save the avi using a different codec. Well, I only used a different codec because I wanted as little re-compression as possible to save quality and to give myself some assurance that it was really being converted so the error would go away. It worked. I've got another one I need to do this with as well, as soon as I get around to it. Though I'm going to see if tmpgenc 2.0 still has the problem first.

  8. Wouldn't it work to frameserve from V-DUB to TMPGenc?
I've come around some problems I had with movies that way, but I haven't tried for illegal floating point problems.
I have 1 movie with that problem, will try when I get back home.

  9. OK..more bad news..
I re-DLŽed the movie and it is still the same problem at the exact same spot so I donŽt think it has something Ž
to do with coruption during DL...
IŽll try to resave the .avi and see what happens..

  12. why try to fix the problem when you can go around it !
I had the same prob and all I did was to note the frame-number where TMPG stopped.
Then I encoded up to a few frames before the bad one.
Then I encoded from a few frames after the bad one.
You loose approx 10frames - half a sec.
Youll end up with 2 mpgs but they can of course be joined.

  16. do the easy way, which took me less than 2 mins

use virtual dub, open the movies, ignore the error it tells ya.., since it detec the bad frame...

now just head to the frame number, or use the slider..just press the DELETE key on the bad frame..

now save the avi- using direct video /audio stream..voila
