  1. I want to convert 2 DV files of 12.5GB (about 60mins of video) each MPEG to place it on to a single DVD-R.
I want to use all available space on the DVD-R so i have maximum quality possible.

I have TMPGEnc Plus and DVD Movie Factory
I could probably convert each one to 50% of the disc size with TMPG and burn with dvd movie factory.

The DV is interlaced which looks awful when played on my computer.

My question is: Should I use TMPGenc's deinterlace filter or will my DVD player deinterlace it on its own?
Do I get better playback quality by leaving it as interlaced?

    Which deinterlace setting is better?

  2. If your final playback target is a normal TV, do not de-interlace. If you want to view interlaced material on a PC, try PowerDVD as it has a built-in on the fly de-interlacer, works for DVD material, not sure about DV though.
