For such a long time I have been facing the sync problem. The mpeg2 file I captured can be played synched, but whenever I edit it, like cutting away the commercials, the resulting file is very likely to be out of sync. But now I found a way to keep it always synched.
Here is how I do it,
1) Capture the mpeg2 file with Pinnacle Moviebox. This file is perfectly synched when played, but it is not editable, because this would cause desync.
2) I demux this file with PVAstrumento. I unchecked all the options under video and expert, and also unchecked fix startup delay under general. Here I would get one audio and one video file.
3) I mux the audio and video files back together with Womble mpeg2vcr.
The resulting file is what I am looking for. It is perfectly synched, and no matter how I cut and join it, the output is always synched. And I like to use Womble mpeg2vcr for cutting and joining because it is really the fastest and easiest I have ever used.
Try to see if you get the same result, and post a reply here.
