  1. Hi,

I've been scouring this website and these forums for a while now, very helpful. I have however come up with a question I could not find an answer for just by searching: is it possible to archive DVD-Audio titles, such as Queen's excellent "A Night at the Opera"? And for those not in the know, I'm not looking to copy concert DVD titles, which are simply DVD Video discs, but real DVD Audio titles.

The main difference I've found is that the AUDIO_TS folder on these DVDs is full, as opposed to DVD Video titles. I'm sure I would have no problem copying part of the disc (the dts track with the images) by using the normal method with DVD Decrypter and InstantCopy, but when I try to rip the disc with DVD Decrypter, it simply ignores it.

I was wondering if it'd be possible to simply add an AUDIO_TS directory to the VIDEO_TS one created by DVD Decrypter, then fill it with whatever is in the AUDIO_TS, but InstantCopy detects it all wrong, it actually detects one video stream as being of negative size... ?!?!?!? I only want to copy the contents of the AUDIO_TS directory, because I want the full resolution DVD audio stream, and I can't fit both the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS directories and their contents on one DVD-R (they are about 3.5G each).

Would it work if I simply created a directory with and empty VIDEO_TS and an AUDIO_TS filled with the disc's material, and then tried to make an image of it with an external application (such as ImgTool), then burning it with Nero or other burning software?

Thanks for all the help I'm sure I'll get!

    -Seb

  2. Not too sure (cause it takes a long time).
I think TmpGenc might be able to help (but can't remember how at the mo)

If it's not encrypted, you can just copy the files to an AUDIO_TS folder on the HD, and burn with any burn apps that support DVD. You probably need to do it in ISO/UDF mode-may have to do a few tests 1st.

If it's encrypted, you're SOL! I don't know of anything like DeCSS on the audio side--YET.
