i have a vid on my comp (2 avi files which i joined), the joined avi files play perfectly, as i joined them with vdub mp3 freeze, when making the dvd mpg i used goldwave to extract the wav file and i used the "dv audio -- NTSC 48.000 KHZ 16 bit stereo, then i got the wav file, went into tmpgenc choosed CBR MPEG 1 LAYER 2 AUDIO (MP2) , to create my dvd file, went through all the motions and at the last page of tmpgenc chose to encode it at 6000, since if the file was to big, after i convert it in tmpgenc dvd author, i would have shrunk it in dvd2one......so after all of that i left it on over night to encode the movie....woke up to inspect the file to find that there is no sound in the middle of the movielike the first 30 min theres sound then theres silence for another half hour, then the end ing of the movie has sound.....WTF is up with that...holla back....if there anymore informationneeded just tell me............

  5. Load your joined file into vdub and drag the bar at the bottom until you get to the point where there is no sound in your TMPG file. You're using the original file here not the one created bt TMPG. Play it and see if you have sound. Let us know what's up.

  8. sounds to me, without knowing anymore about the source file specs, like the avi audio is shorter than the video. Did you do a frame rate conversion (2 part question....is the audio and video the same length when they are split and is the avi the SAME frame rate as the final movie).

You might find it easier to do this conversion using dvd2svcd. It has an option in it to convert avi files to VCd,SVCD,CVD, and DVD. Try that and post back.
