  1. When I backup a DVD complete with menus with Nero 6 then play it back on my PC with power dvd it wont get past the menus. When I select play movie or anything else on the menu the DVD stops. They play fine on my home dvd players or if the backup has no menus it will play the movie fine on power dvd but just not with menus. Is there any settings I need to change within Nero 6.

I have had this problem also.

Noticed it once I installed the update. The disc will not play on Power dvd xp, but plays okay on stand-a-lone.

I have gone back to version 5.5

  4. A question for you guys. If the DVD plays OK on normal DVD players wouldn't that indicate a problem with Power DVD rather than a problem with Nero? I'm not as proficient as many of the people on this forum but the above seems logical to me.

Has anyone had the same problem with WinDVD? Or with other DVD play software?

Different bugs, ones that don't bother Power DVD? BTW I have no problem playing DVD's on PWD which were burnt with Nero 6.0.11

  7. Im using 6.0.0.9 not 6.0.11 which only just proves that the problem was with Nero and not Power DVD so I will download 6.0.11 and see how I go.

  8. Whilst you're at it there was an update to the NVE package that was posted yesterday, so it may pay to get that too!

  9. i just found it easier not to bother with crappy NERO 6 for DVDs.
just use CopytoDVD and its fine every time.
neros fine for cds,but is trying to be too much like software which is superior.

  10. Can I beg to differ on this subject? I've been using Nero for some years and for burning DVD's for at least a year and never had any problems.

Hmmm! I tell a lie, *one* DVD player had problems and that was related to the order that Nero burnt the files. The player was just very picky about what it would or wouldn't play. With the latest version of Nero even that problem has disappeared.

IMHO Nero is one of the best, if not *the* best piece of burning software on the market. But then since when has anything that a woman has siad been taken seriously by you guys. javascript:emoticon('')

  12. I have found since upgrading to Nero 6 (6.0.0.9 & 6.0.0.11) that when I play a backup in Powerdvd & try to navigate between chapters I get the error message :- The DVD disc might have been damaged so as to inhibit playback operation.
However same discs playback fine in WMP & my standalone
