  4. I've never been able to get DVDFab to work for me but I'm always willing to try new versions. Is this still a freeware version and, if not, will there at least be a trial version (because I ain't buying something that doesn't work -- I have way too many alternatives to Fab to do something like that)?

Did you realize that DVDFab is now copyrighted by Fengtao Software It used to be Joerg Plenert.

Looks like Joerg sold his rights to some Chinese/Japanese/Korean (pick one) company.
Doesn't look like a freeware to me anymore!

  7. Core,

Can you post some of the changes or improvements over v.0.17.0 that will be in v.1.0?

  8. tomeczek,

That's old new. Joerg got out of the DVD backup business because of a new law in Germany that took effect August 2003. Fortunately, Fengtao bought the software from Joerg so it can be developed further. Version 0.17.0 (no more nag screen) was the last freeware released by Joerg.

will DVD Region-Free be bundle with DVDFab? If so, that'd be awesome.

  13. Of couse; there will be a trial version !

A bundle is not planed, yet.

But the technologie of DVD Region-Free is included
    in the ripper of DVDFab.

There will also be a "ripper-less" version for countries
where ripping is forbitten. But you can download and
    run both versions

  14. Hi Core,
firstly I would like to praise your software, as I have been using it for backing up my DVDs and I love how easy it is to use.
Recently I have purchased a new DVD Player: a Kiss DP450.
This DVD player seems to have a problem with Disc 2. It just doesn't play it. I have a feeling it is because disc2 doesn't start with chapter 1, you keep the chapter structure from the original dvd (wich means the fist chapter on disc2 is somethink like 15 or 22 or whatever).
I tried re-encoding disc2 with DVD2One (wich re-numbers the chapters), and it works flawlessly.
I guess if there was an option like "renumber chapters on disc 2" it would help me very much.... Or is there another way to correct the disc2 so the chapter start from 1 and not "n"(>1).
