  1. this is probably a really easy question. i set the extension .m2v to open with powerdvd. everytime i open a file with powerdvd it puts a file labeled Default.PLS in the folder where the m2v file is. how do i make it stop doing that?

  2. I get this too (PowerDVD will do this for any movie file you play). I read the online manual for PowerDVD and couldn't find the answer. I'll let you know if I find anything.

    Anyone else know?

  3. I've always assumed that was a playlist. I don't know how to stop it from being created all the time

i try to explain this the best i can

    it's not powerdvd . it's windows

in windows, there are lot of files and folders

in each folder there is some kind of extension to open the file to make windows know what type of file it is

    like for instance

    if you click my pictures

    you will see pictures

but if you go into folder options
and check 'show hidden files and folders'
and uncheck 'hide protected system operating files (not recommended)'
you will see thumbs in the folder too

that what windows use to operate that file

the same thing happen when you view mpeg or vob in a folder

i have power dvd but my files say musicmatch as the default pls when i open a vob file or mpeg file

if you use power dvd to read the main ifo of the dvd instead of the vobs to watch that movie
that pls icon won't come up

it will come up for mpegs though

p.s. make sure you delete that file before you burn your dvd video_ts folder as that can probably cause problems as for as your dvd playing in a standalone
