My University goes from March-June (with a 1 week break for Easter and also a 1 week break before exams), then around 5 weeks off, start back July 20th - October/November (with a week break in September).
Quite bludgy considering that I only go 2 days a week as well. Having a 5 day weekend rocks (well apart from the part time job that is).

Probably not all that many, from what I've seen they've got the power back on to lot of the area

It's summer, that's why! People are outside during their spare time. Me, I work on the computer, but get outside whenever possible.
School starts up around here the first week of September. It's a good thing I'm done with that.
