Last night I tried to rip a dvd with side a and side b. They have split the film in half, put some on each side.
I dycrepted the side A with DVD Dycrepter no problem but problem started when I started torip the side B, as both sides had files with same name. DVD dycrepter asked me if I wanted to rename them with a default alternative that the program gave (something like ....(1) added to the fle name).
I had no chance but to try this renaming. Ripping finished, open the DVD FAB, choosed "main movie" option but once I showed the directory with all the files ripped in to DVD Fab shut itself down.
Is there anybody who knows how to overcome this "file name" promlem with one of these side A & B kind of dvds so that DVD Fab can execute it's job?
Thanks for your Time

yes I thought about it but how is DVD Fab going to compile it all together. As far as I now you can only choose one folder when operatin with DVD Fab....

The new DVDshrink version 3.0 beta makes combining two DVD's to a single dvd real easy.

When I want to join a flippy I rip both sides to different directories (film only). Then I note the file names of the vob's in the first side then rename the vob's for the second side to follow on from the first side. For instance if the first side ends with VTS_01_5.vob then rename the first file for side two as VTS_01_6.vob and so on through all the film files.
Now copy all the film files into the directory for the first side. You can now use IfoEdit to generate a new set of ifo files for the complete film. Then it's just a case of running DVD2one or something to shrink to fit on a DVD and of course then burning the completed film.Artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity. -
With a film large enough to need two sides of a disk, why not just rip two DVDs?
