  1. Ok I have a DivX file, 23.96 frames/sec as says Virtualdub.

I try to create an MPEG-2 from this using TMPGEnc using NTSC film with VBR 2-pass. For some reason when I play the resulting file in Windows Media Player... I cannot seek within the file.

If I try to encode this file with CBR, I get the following error popup from TMPGenc "-272762941 859034592" several times!

VirtualDub also warns me that the audio in this DivX file is VBR.

    Help please!!!!!!!

  2. Open it in Vdub, set video to direct stream copy and audio to full process and make it uncompressed wav then save as a new avi. you may want to go into the audio properties (Under conversion) and set it to re-encode to 44,100Hz too

You'll need VDub-MP3 though. I prefer GoldWave for VBR or AC3 audio extraction, here's a guide.
