Hmm does virtualdub support smp when you capture?
i've noticed sometimes the cpu limit goes up to 107% when capturing using mjpeg codec, but then it looses frames, and when you capture to divx the cpu limit goes up to 200%
wo whats the deal?

if your cpu usage goes up to 200%, then v-dub can obviously support an smp system, otherwise it would show as 50% per processor. you should note however that on a single cpu 1.5GHz system, i can capture using the divx codec with about 80-90% cpu usage. as for the mjpeg codec, the reason why you might be loosing frames is not your cpu(s) rather the performance of your harddrive(s). at high quality setting, mjpeg can take up quite a bit of space. you should make sure that DMA transfer is supported and enabled on your harddrive (i know this has been said a thousand times on these forums).
also, for your divx capture, you should also make sure that your bitrate and resolution aren't too high, and you can also try using different divx codecs (the fastest ones i've found for amd systems are the KS MPEG4 VKI codecs, although i haven't tried every mpeg4 codec).
