    In order to watch pal dvd you need a dvd player that supports pal but what about the tv? Does it has to support pal too?

    PAL DVDs on NTSC TV
    &
    NTSC DVDs on PAL TV

    Be warned, though, that there are quite a few budget players that mess up the anamorphic PAL to NTSC conversion.

    Try seeking out the Sampo DVE612(N) (not the Sampo DVE612 without the extra (N) ) - see here or any similar cheapo models that have a Mediatek (rather than an ESS) video processor.
